Keith Halman Appointed to Department of Information Resources Board

Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.Keith Halman, associate vice chancellor and chief information officer (CIO) for the ΘνΓΓΙη (ΘνΓΓΙη System), was on Jan. 5 to the Department of Information Resources (DIR) governing board.
Halman, who joined the ΘνΓΓΙη System Administration on March 1, 2023, serves on the systemβs CIO council with leadership across the ΘνΓΓΙη System component universities and provides leadership, direction and oversight for the information technology (IT) departments in the ΘνΓΓΙη System Administration. In addition, Halman currently serves as the interim CIO for (ΘνΓΓΙη), one of the five component institutions of the ΘνΓΓΙη System.
The DIR board coordinates, monitors and directs information resources management within state government.

Halman joined the ΘνΓΓΙη System following a 16-year tenure at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he served as the executive director of business technology services. He has earned two degrees from ΘνΓΓΙη, with bachelorβs and masterβs degrees in information systems from the .
βAs a native Texan and an IT professional for nearly two decades, this is an exciting opportunity to serve on the DIR board,β said Halman. βIβm humbled and honored to represent the ΘνΓΓΙη System and to work closely with other leaders throughout the state to lead the overall strategy for IT policy and to help develop innovative solutions for the State of Texas.β
Halmanβs term on the board is set to expire on Feb. 1, 2025.
